There are various activities available when preparing meals, so you have a few ways to get your kids involved in the kitchen. Menu planning can get your kids involved in the kitchen and with what you cook every day. So, ask them what they want to eat or sit them down with a cookbook. Also, choose one with photos if your child can’t read yet. When kids are responsible for choosing some of their meals, they’re less likely to turn their nose up at what you serve, too.

Vegetables need prepping, and kids of all ages can help. Even if they’re too young to use a knife, they can help. So, have them shuck corn, peel potatoes, or snap the ends off of green beans. They can wash the fruit and vegetables, too. Vegetable prep is a simple way to get kids involved in the kitchen.

Forming Meatballs

Meatballs are the perfect way to get your kids involved in the kitchen. They are a whole lot of fun to make from scratch. So, let your kids roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. You don’t have to worry about them in front of the heat, either. Give them the bowl of ground beef with the mix-ins and show them what size to roll the meatballs.
